Poetic Fridays!

This past Friday I went to a nice hip little spot in Jersey City called Grassroots!!!  Its a community center that offers a lot of classes whether it be art or dance here in Jersey City!  Its like 15 min out of NYC and totally accessable from the NJ PATH train, if your in the area please check it out, heres the link http://grassrootscommunityspace.com/ical/month.php.  So on this particular friday I went on out for a open-mic/poetry slam!  It was great entertainment to say the least!  I took some pictures while walking around in some warehouse parking lot and wrote a poem about my weekend!  A weekend filled with me catching this God for awful summer cold, arguing, and arguing!  I hope u enjoy it and I hope u had a better weekend than me!

FOUL WEATHER FRIEND

With all due respect
2 u
And your feelings.
My truth
About regretful incidents
That u have seem
2 be stealing.
With a untrustworthy back,
Broken from bending over
Backwards__
UNWILLING?
I am unsure of a relationship
That I trusted,
But am no longer Feeling!
You see,

Ive been dealing with pictures
Painted “BAD” about me!
The monster & Bitch
That people seem 2 have wanted
2 see!
And u of all people,
Should know what lies
At the very core of me!
But wanted our amigos
To know a false reality.

So now
That we’ve gotten here
I don’t know what 2 do!?!?!
For I entertained,
The insults,
Of my own fasley accused truth!
And questioned myself as if I did something wrong!
But I have known the real truth
All along.

Tired of hearing about your feelings
For I have some too!
A Grand one of feeling betrayed
And mind-fucked too!
I opened up to u
Foul Whether friend
On every level.
Stop acting,
Like you were out of control,
For your foot was on the pedal!
And I don’t like others to medal
in my business.
For it can make
One ugly!
Open mouthed and belligerent!

Here I stand
More hurt than before…
When I 1st took responsibility
4 what I thought,
I caused you to endure!

But my body is cold
And mouth stays shut
4 a reason.
To not lose loved ones
To the divine change
Of the season.

Mistake it if u will
And u obviously have!
I kno 4 u,
Its like it is 4 me,
A scene that’s very sad.
But I refuse to take responsibility
4 painted pictures about my character.
Eventhough that’s what it seems
Everyone is after!

I am just going to continue
2 be as complicated as I can be
Hopefully God
Will grace my life with people open-minded
Enough to see through to the core of
…..the real me!


I hope that wasn't too much for any of my followers!  I just wanted to be honest about what I've been thinking!  I hope it was NOT seen as negative!

Black & White Days

Sometimes u just feel a little blah!  I'm sure you ladies have felt that way.  That's exactly how I was feeling one day this past week and pulled my friend Justice out the house to walk around downtown Jersey City with me.  We strolled around drinking coffee and eating spanish food.  Soon I was feeling a little bit more like myself.  I'm not really sure what it was, maybe I was so anxious to be out of school for the summer and now I am dying for something to do!  Like, boredum set in.  Its the artist in me!  Sometimes all you do is crave 4 a break to just have time for yourself and then you have that itch to constantly do something and be apart of something great!  Its a fustrating dynamic.  One I would like to get more control of in the future and appreciate both times in my life, working or chilling, and just find joy in those moments.  I guess the summer will give me time to find that and reconnect and be a little bit more creative!  And of course spend more time on my blog!!!

Lately!!!

Maybe this should be a monthly thing about what I like and what I've done lately!!!  I think I may.  I like to tell my readers what I've been up to, whats all the happenings, what I love, what I hate, and things i picked up a long the way!

1st

I got this cheap little sparkly purse for $7 @ Monk thrift store in the West Village!!!  It was cute, small store, not any plus sizes, just a trial and error try on kind of thing,but sooo soo sooo many accessories!!!  LUV!  Purses, belts, shoes, ties, scarfs, jewelry, and tons of other cool stuff!  I picked this up!  I really like the chains on this little purse.  I would love to have them removed to make the purse longer and get bigger, longer chains!  If your in the area please check it out!

2nd

I was walking around like 14th street and there were a lot of shops popping up that sells jewelry for $2.99!!!  Like everything in the store!  If your looking for specific colors or trends you wanna try out without breaking the bank, than I don't find anything wrong it!  If you have skin thats sensitive and easily breaks out from fake gold or fake metal than try the beads!  Great for the summer, on trend and a bead is a bead!

3rd

"Thomas Francis Takes his Chances" is one of the best bands I've heard in a while.  A local Jersey City band that are amazing and tell quirky stories.  I wish they were on twitter or facebook.  You can type in their name and some real cool articles pop up, but like most Artist they are just too cool to conform to the masses and join the technological age.  I can't blame them, I believe it helps them stay fresh and very creative!!!  Here's some pics!!!

Not the end

This is one of the many billboards you see on the Jersey Turnpike heading north.  Its been there about a month.  There was also one that was very similar on JFK BLVD right here in Jersey City where I reside.  When I first saw this I thought Malarkey of course, like where did this notion even come from?  But I live right outside New York so of course it was all the stir.  So in preparation, better yet...CELEBRATION of what was the biggest crock of shit ever, me and my friends decided..."Hey! Lets throw an END OF THE WORLD PARTY"!!!  We all jumped up and down and rejoiced at the idea and then ran around laughing and patting ourselves on our backs because our 4 heads were better than one!  So Thats how I spent my Saturday.  At first I went to see Jessica (the hostess of the party) in a original play called, "Murder on Ice".  Absolutely entertaining and hilarous!  I loved it, and then we went to her house with the shit load of bear and alcohole we bought for the END.  Called my loved ones, told them I loved them and continued to enjoy my life.  Here's some pics I took in a OK outfit!  I have to tell yah, i don't know about the rest of the country, but its still been on the gloomy, rainy, chilly side up here.  Oh and I just want to add that this whole Rapture was suppose to start at 6:00pm and at that same time, God opened up the heavens with a wave of sense of humor and it poored down rain like the great flood here in Jersey City and I had quite the laugh about it!!!!  LOL!

Jersey City Nights!

It was a little on the chilly side in the New York/Jersey City area this weekend.  So I wore this when I was out in New York with a friend.  When we got back to downtown Jersey City by Grove st, we decided to have a quickie!!!  A Quick photo session!!!  Nothing to high-tech really just playing with shadows!  Im waiting for boot season to disappear but I hate my feet to be cold.  Its always cold when your downtown getting closer to the water!

Love this owl necklace I got this that day at AFAZE in the Manhatten Mall!!!!  Good prices, on trend!

As you can see I still cannot live without this messanger bag from Target!!!  Just makes every outfit better and so convienant.  So many compartments and just enough extra room to pick up some things while your out shopping with street venders or what have you in New York!

Back and at It!

Thanks to anyone and everyone that is still tuning into little ol' me!  It means a lot.  I think Im going to buy a brand new computer soon.  Which is why my post have been further and further apart.  So I am going to do like a montage in this post of all the things I have been up to lately!

1st...."Once on this Island" the Musical!!!!  It was quite the time catcher and thats where my time has been in the past like 4 months.  It was filled with ups and downs like anything else but it was all worth it.  Here Are some pics backstage!
