Lately!!!

Maybe this should be a monthly thing about what I like and what I've done lately!!!  I think I may.  I like to tell my readers what I've been up to, whats all the happenings, what I love, what I hate, and things i picked up a long the way!

1st

I got this cheap little sparkly purse for $7 @ Monk thrift store in the West Village!!!  It was cute, small store, not any plus sizes, just a trial and error try on kind of thing,but sooo soo sooo many accessories!!!  LUV!  Purses, belts, shoes, ties, scarfs, jewelry, and tons of other cool stuff!  I picked this up!  I really like the chains on this little purse.  I would love to have them removed to make the purse longer and get bigger, longer chains!  If your in the area please check it out!

2nd

I was walking around like 14th street and there were a lot of shops popping up that sells jewelry for $2.99!!!  Like everything in the store!  If your looking for specific colors or trends you wanna try out without breaking the bank, than I don't find anything wrong it!  If you have skin thats sensitive and easily breaks out from fake gold or fake metal than try the beads!  Great for the summer, on trend and a bead is a bead!

3rd

"Thomas Francis Takes his Chances" is one of the best bands I've heard in a while.  A local Jersey City band that are amazing and tell quirky stories.  I wish they were on twitter or facebook.  You can type in their name and some real cool articles pop up, but like most Artist they are just too cool to conform to the masses and join the technological age.  I can't blame them, I believe it helps them stay fresh and very creative!!!  Here's some pics!!!

Not the end

This is one of the many billboards you see on the Jersey Turnpike heading north.  Its been there about a month.  There was also one that was very similar on JFK BLVD right here in Jersey City where I reside.  When I first saw this I thought Malarkey of course, like where did this notion even come from?  But I live right outside New York so of course it was all the stir.  So in preparation, better yet...CELEBRATION of what was the biggest crock of shit ever, me and my friends decided..."Hey! Lets throw an END OF THE WORLD PARTY"!!!  We all jumped up and down and rejoiced at the idea and then ran around laughing and patting ourselves on our backs because our 4 heads were better than one!  So Thats how I spent my Saturday.  At first I went to see Jessica (the hostess of the party) in a original play called, "Murder on Ice".  Absolutely entertaining and hilarous!  I loved it, and then we went to her house with the shit load of bear and alcohole we bought for the END.  Called my loved ones, told them I loved them and continued to enjoy my life.  Here's some pics I took in a OK outfit!  I have to tell yah, i don't know about the rest of the country, but its still been on the gloomy, rainy, chilly side up here.  Oh and I just want to add that this whole Rapture was suppose to start at 6:00pm and at that same time, God opened up the heavens with a wave of sense of humor and it poored down rain like the great flood here in Jersey City and I had quite the laugh about it!!!!  LOL!

Jersey City Nights!

It was a little on the chilly side in the New York/Jersey City area this weekend.  So I wore this when I was out in New York with a friend.  When we got back to downtown Jersey City by Grove st, we decided to have a quickie!!!  A Quick photo session!!!  Nothing to high-tech really just playing with shadows!  Im waiting for boot season to disappear but I hate my feet to be cold.  Its always cold when your downtown getting closer to the water!

Love this owl necklace I got this that day at AFAZE in the Manhatten Mall!!!!  Good prices, on trend!

As you can see I still cannot live without this messanger bag from Target!!!  Just makes every outfit better and so convienant.  So many compartments and just enough extra room to pick up some things while your out shopping with street venders or what have you in New York!

Back and at It!

Thanks to anyone and everyone that is still tuning into little ol' me!  It means a lot.  I think Im going to buy a brand new computer soon.  Which is why my post have been further and further apart.  So I am going to do like a montage in this post of all the things I have been up to lately!

1st...."Once on this Island" the Musical!!!!  It was quite the time catcher and thats where my time has been in the past like 4 months.  It was filled with ups and downs like anything else but it was all worth it.  Here Are some pics backstage!

I was so happy when the weather broke!  And I got to finally wear my Target flats.  I just happened to have this vest from a few posts ago and paired it with a casual pink tee from oldnavy.  I liked how the relax, perhaps preppy look came out!

Mustard & Black! Whats better than that???

Ok!  I really wanted to do an April fools post, but I am just not that on time!  But this April did bring me one of the ultimate finds EVER!!!  A Mustard Blazer?!?!?!?  WTF?  Shut the front door.  Gabi from www.youngfatandfabulous.com has one!  It was a thrift find for her.  I love mustard!!!  Love it!  I mean have you seen that hand made mustard knit hat in the last post???  Yeah I am ever so serious about this~!  Its a Dream come true. 

I found it really at the end of March on a shopping trip to Macy's with my friend Melrose at the Newport Mall in Jersey City.  We were really going to look for a dress for a performance we had coming up and I helped her score a cheap American Rage dress.  Well while we were in the check out line I saw a Mustard Blazer!  I ran over to the rack picked it up and tried it on.  It fit but way too tight.  It was a size 18!  I was sooo pissed, so hurt, but now that I knew it existed I was on the hunt for it.  This shopping trip wouldnt be complete if it wasn't in my hands or in the mail to mi casa!!!  So I spotted another one on a damaged goods rack.  I grabbed it, inspected it and concluded that I didn't see any physical damage so decided to try it on.  It fit better!!!  It was a size 20!  The lady behind the register saw me going through the damaged goods and demanded I put it back and that it was going back because there was something wrong with it.  As Mel waited in line to check out with her American Rag dress that originally was $59.00 until I looked on my Droid and told her on Macys.com it was $29.99 with an additional 15% off, I went off with the size 18 blazer in tow to find this Blazer in a size 22!  The very helpful clerk behind the counter found that it was available in a couple other Macys in NYC, but when we went to try and reach them on the phone none of the stores answered!  Uh oh...bad customer service!!!!!  I hate bad customer service, so we decided to call one in Tenesse!!!  And they picked right up and found the blazer in a size 22, it really came as a pant/suit set that was originally $200 but was on sale for $55!  (I really didnt care how much it was, it was all worth it).  And on April first it came and on April 2nd I wore it!  I really love this item in my wardrobe!!!  What item do you love?

One of my favorite colors to wear in any capacity is mustard.  I don't know why!  Probably because I like the color of sun and sunsets and that it looks good against my skin tone.  Its brings a brightness out within me.  Even though its warming up it still gets cold and then I have to retreat to wearing hats, or gloves.  Like I said before, its not that I don't mind I am just sooo ready for my toes to come out and party.  The weather has been teasing us as of late, but it just doesn't stay around__hence the hat.  A lovely mustard hat that I do have a matching scarf to go with that i got as a Christmas present from my brother-in-laws Mother!!!  She made it for me herself so its kinda a one of a kind.  There was some really fly mustard accessories this past winter at www.modcloth.com that I was totally looking into buying before I got blessed with this jewel!  Which leads me to my next current, huge obsession.....This brown, goes with everything, so i must wear it everyday messenger bag from Target!!!!!  LOVE, Love, love it!!!  OMG!  I saw it and feel in-love and immediately bought it.  I've gotten so many compliments on it, especially the popular, "Where did u get...?"  I cut them off and say Target (pronounced Tarjae) and since I've gotten it, it has not left my side!!!  I must stress the fact that Target has some real nice stuff__for all sizes and most big girls can probably fit in their main range sizes as well.  Target is definitely a stop of mine once every 2 to 3 weeks!  I paired this simple look with these moccasin type shoes/boots I got from Target a couple of years ago!  I got a lot of compliments in this simple casual look!  U can be casual and cute remember that ladies!

The Weekender!!! The outfit!

Hey guys!  Thanks for still checking in!  I was just Chill-Axing this weekend and wanted to share my no stress, kick around outfit.  Nothing too special, but I actually get a lot of compliments on this top I picked up from Torrid, so what do you think.  Green has been a popular color on here as of late.  And even tho I love my Uggs more than anything, I stay getting a pedicure because I'm dying for my toes to come out and play!!!  They are getting real ansy.  But its still a lil cool here in the Tri-state but the clocks are being set back, or up, I never really know.  Either way Spring save me!!!

Really wanna send some Love over to Japan!!!!  Really keeping them in my prayers!  <3
